Zabit Magomedsharipov Signs Multi-Fight Deal for Combat Sports Return

Zabit Magomedsharipov is coming back. The former UFC featherweight contender has signed a multi-fight deal with a combat sports promotion, ending one of the sport's longest-running hiatuses.

The Dagestani, once ranked among the best 145-pounders in the world, has not fought in years, with injuries and personal reasons keeping him sidelined during what should have been his prime. His creative striking and suffocating grappling made him a fan favourite.

Details of the promotion and the date of his return bout are expected in the coming weeks, with early next year the targeted window. The signing immediately reshuffles the featherweight picture wherever he lands.
