Zuffa Boxing's middleweight collection just got a lot stronger. WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames has officially signed a multi-fight promotional contract with the promotion founded by UFC CEO Dana White and Saudi Arabia's Turki Alalshikh, the company announced in a release published to the UFC's official site.

Adames, 32, carries a 25-1-1 record with 18 knockouts and has held the full WBC crown since May 2024. He has kept it busy since then: a unanimous decision over Terrell Gausha, a split draw against Hamzah Sheeraz on the Beterbiev-Bivol undercard in Riyadh, and a successful defense against Austin Williams in March 2026. The Dominican, who hails from Elias Pina, called the move a new chapter and said he intends to make history on the promotion's big stage, while hinting that a move up to super middleweight remains in his plans.

The signing is a statement of intent for Zuffa Boxing, which launched in September 2024 and now counts three of the four reigning middleweight world champions on its roster — Adames joins WBO titleholder Denzel Bentley and IBF champion Aaron McKenna. WBC interim champion Jesus Ramos Jr. is also said to be circling Adames for a potential showdown, meaning the promotion could soon control the division's entire title picture.
