Watson Adds Major Firepower to Nedbank Golf Challenge Field
Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson will make his debut at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in honour of Gary Player at Sun City in December.

Double Masters champion Bubba Watson will add major championship pedigree to the Nedbank Golf Challenge in honour of Gary Player after being confirmed for the December field at Sun City. The DP World Tour announced on November 2 that Watson, winner of the Masters in 2012 and 2014 and a former world No. 2, will make his debut in Africa's Major at the revamped Gary Player Country Club from December 3 to 6. He becomes the fourth major champion in this year's field, joining current US Open champion Wyndham Clark and former US Open winners Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Rose in what organisers describe as the strongest field in recent history for the event. The South African challenge has also been bolstered by multiple DP World Tour winner Branden Grace, the last home winner of the event in 2017 and holder of the lowest round in men's major history with his 62 at The Open in 2017, and PGA Tour winner Aldrich Potgieter, who will make his third appearance in the tournament. Watson's debut continues a long American influence on the event stretching back to Johnny Miller's victory in the inaugural edition in 1981.
