Wakefield Trinity Top Super League's 2026 Club Grading After Fairy-Tale Grand Final Triumph
Super League champions Wakefield Trinity topped the RFL's optional 2026 Club Grading rankings on a joint-record 17.85 points, capping a remarkable rise from relegation in 2023.

Wakefield Trinity's dream season has delivered another crown, with the Super League champions topping the RFL's 2026 Club Grading rankings on a joint-record score of 17.85 out of 20. The grading, optional for the first time this year, ranks only the clubs that chose to take part across the five pillars of Fandom, Finance, Stadium, Community and On-Field Performance. Trinity's tally equals Hull KR's all-time best from 2025 and includes 0.75 bonus points for their Grand Final triumph under the performance pillar — part of a +2.38 year-on-year jump, the biggest of any club, after they finished eighth in 2025. They were one of eight clubs to secure Grade A status (15 points or more), joined by Leeds Rhinos (17.03), beaten Grand Finalists Warrington Wolves (16.72), League Leaders Shield winners Wigan Warriors (16.46), last year's treble winners Hull KR (16.45), Leigh Leopards (16.31), St Helens (15.59) and Castleford Tigers (15.03), who climbed back to Grade A after finishing 11th last year. It completes an astonishing arc: relegated in 2023, Wakefield won the Championship Grand Final in 2024 to return, reached the play-offs in 2025, and last Saturday beat Warrington 23-10 at a sold-out Old Trafford to end a 58-year wait for a league title. Wakefield are the fourth different club in four years to top the grading, following Leeds (2023), St Helens (2024) and Hull KR (2025).
