Waddle's Status Uncertain for Chiefs Showdown After Aggravating Chest Injury
Denver Broncos receiver Jaylen Waddle aggravated a chest injury in the Week 7 win over Arizona, leaving his status uncertain for Sunday's game against Kansas City.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is uncertain for Sunday's showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs after aggravating a chest injury in the Week 7 win over the Arizona Cardinals. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, reported on Wednesday, Waddle's availability will be decided by his practice participation this week.
Waddle had been nursing the chest problem before the Cardinals game, limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday before being a full participant on Friday. The aggravation came during the win over Arizona, and head coach Sean Payton has already criticised himself for the play call on which the receiver was hurt.
The timing is awkward for Denver. The Broncos, 5-2 and on a three-game winning streak, visit the 5-1 Chiefs on Sunday, and Waddle's production has been modest since his offseason trade from Miami — 26 receptions for 276 yards and one touchdown through seven games, with no game over 50 yards since his 138-yard outing against Jacksonville in Week 2. Whether he lines up in Kansas City now depends on how the chest responds over the coming days.
