Vietnam to Host Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship for First Time at Hoiana Shores in 2027
Hoiana Shores Golf Club in Hoi An will stage the 2027 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, the first time Vietnam has hosted the event, with the winner earning a Masters invitation.

The Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship is heading to Vietnam for the first time. The Masters Tournament, The R&A and the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation announced on October 29, 2026 that Hoiana Shores Golf Club in Hoi An will host the 2027 edition of the championship, one of the most prestigious amateur events in the region and a direct pathway to the Masters at Augusta National. The 2027 tournament will be the 18th edition of the championship, and its winner will earn an invitation to the following year's Masters, making it one of the most coveted titles in amateur golf across Asia-Pacific. Hoiana Shores, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 2019, is laid out along more than a mile and a half of beachfront sand dunes, offering views of the South China Sea and the Cham Islands. R&A chief executive Mark Darbon welcomed the choice, saying the organisers are fortunate to stage the championship at some of the world's finest courses and that Hoiana Shores and New South Wales are undoubtedly in that category. He added that the organisers look forward to taking the event to Vietnam for the first time and to enjoying one of the world's great emerging golf destinations. Looking further ahead, the 2028 championship will be held at New South Wales Golf Club in Sydney, Australia — another first-time host venue. The announcement underlines Asia's rising profile on the global amateur stage and places Hoiana Shores firmly in the spotlight as a course capable of delivering a championship of the highest standard.
