VanVleet's Third-Quarter Burst Keeps Rockets Perfect in 132-100 Rout of Bucks

The Houston Rockets stayed perfect on Wednesday night, routing the Milwaukee Bucks 132-100 at Fiserv Forum to move to 5-0 on the season. Fred VanVleet led the way with 24 points, including a remarkable burst of 15 straight points midway through the third quarter that broke the game wide open. Amen Thompson added 23 points and Kevin Durant chipped in 18 as Houston shot 54.7 per cent from the floor in a complete team performance. The Rockets had already taken control before half-time, outscoring Milwaukee 34-14 in the second quarter to carry a 57-35 lead into the break, and there was no way back for the hosts after VanVleet's third-quarter explosion. Tyler Herro led the Bucks with 23 points, but Milwaukee fell to 1-4 after shooting just 27.5 per cent from three-point range on a night when almost nothing went right. Houston's unbeaten start is beginning to look like more than an early-season hot streak, with balance across the roster and a defence that is giving opponents very little room to breathe.
