Van Schalkwyk's Last-Ball Six Sends South Africa Into Hong Kong Sixes Bowl Final
Jorich van Schalkwyk smashed a last-ball six as South Africa chased down Bangladesh's 129 to reach the Hong Kong Sixes Bowl final.

South Africa booked their place in the Hong Kong Sixes Bowl final in the most dramatic fashion possible on Saturday, chasing down Bangladesh's imposing 129 with a six off the final delivery at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok. Bangladesh had looked on course for victory after Habibur Rahman Sohan blasted an unbeaten 60 from just 14 balls, with Mrittunjoy Chowdhury adding a rapid 26 from six deliveries to lift the total to 129 for two in six overs. South Africa's reply was built around Jorich van Schalkwyk, who finished unbeaten on 77 from 20 balls across two visits to the crease, while Ayabulela Gqamane smashed 30 from only seven deliveries to keep the chase alive. With the match going down to the last ball, Van Schalkwyk cleared the ropes to seal a five-wicket win, South Africa finishing on 132 for five. It was another heartbreaking finish for Bangladesh, who had already lost their previous two matches by a single wicket. South Africa will now meet England in the Bowl final after England edged India by three runs in the second semi-final.
