Unbeaten Farid Basharat Hits Free Agency as UFC Passes on a New Deal
Undefeated bantamweight Farid Basharat has left the UFC after completing his contract without a renewal offer, ending a perfect seven-fight run inside the Octagon at 16-0.

Farid Basharat is a free agent. The undefeated bantamweight has parted ways with the UFC after finishing his contract, with the promotion declining to offer him new terms, according to reporting from journalist Guilherme Cruz on Wednesday.
Crucially, Basharat was not cut — his deal simply ran its course following his July victory over John Garza, and no fresh agreement materialized. He departs with a flawless 16-0 professional record, including a perfect 7-0 mark inside the Octagon, and is widely regarded as a top-10 bantamweight. His UFC resume features wins over Jean Matsumoto, Chris Gutierrez and Taylor Lapilus.
There is a family precedent for this path: his older brother Javid also exited the UFC on a winning note and subsequently landed in the PFL. Farid can now negotiate with any promotion, and a return to the UFC down the line has not been ruled out. No next destination or opponent has been identified yet.
