Two Arrested After Security Breach at Singapore Grand Prix, One Charged With Criminal Trespass

The 2026 Singapore Grand Prix delivered a courtroom story along with its racing. Two men — aged 35 and 39 — attempted to enter the Marina Bay event grounds along Temasek Avenue on the afternoon of October 9 without valid tickets, according to the Singapore Police Force. The 35-year-old was turned away at the gate when his ticket failed verification. The older man, identified as Indian national Daver Arish Adil, allegedly slipped inside despite holding an invalid ticket and then pushed further into a restricted zone reserved for Singapore GP staff and performing artistes.

Event staff located Adil inside the venue and detained him; police received the report at around 3 p.m. that day and arrested him at the scene. The 35-year-old was arrested separately along Temasek Boulevard. Police said the two men knew each other.

Adil appeared in court on October 10 to face two counts of criminal trespass under Section 447 of the Penal Code. Each count carries up to three months in jail, a S$1,500 fine, or both, and his case is due back in court on October 16. Investigations into the second man continue.

Police warned that unauthorized entry at major events compromises safety and security. It is not the first such case at the night race: last year an exchange student was jailed for four weeks after trespassing into VIP areas of the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix. The paddock has since moved on, with the field gearing up for the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas on October 23.
