Tsitsipas Reaches 400 Career Wins with Shanghai Dismissal of Darderi
Stefanos Tsitsipas marked his 400th career victory by sweeping aside 18th seed Luciano Darderi in straight sets to reach the third round of the Shanghai Masters.

Stefanos Tsitsipas reached a career landmark on Saturday at the Shanghai Masters, notching his 400th tour-level victory with a 6-3, 6-4 dismissal of 18th seed Luciano Darderi.
The Greek, playing unseeded, was in command from the first ball at Grandstand 2, needing just two sets to subdue the Italian and book his place in the round of 32. It was a composed performance from a player whose career has had its share of turbulence this season.
The milestone came nine years after Tsitsipas earned his first ATP win, a journey that has carried him to Grand Slam finals and a career-high of world No. 3. At 400 wins, he joins an exclusive group of active players to reach that mark, a testament to his consistency at the top of the game since his breakthrough.
Tsitsipas' victory was part of a busy Saturday in Shanghai that also saw second seed Carlos Alcaraz open his campaign with a ruthless 6-3, 6-3 win over Juan Manuel Cerundolo, while defending champion Valentin Vacherot began his title defence by beating Sebastian Baez 6-4, 7-6(5) for his 10th straight win at the event. Felix Auger-Aliassime, Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz and Arthur Fils also advanced, all in straight sets except for Auger-Aliassime's three-set escape.
The 132-player Masters 1000 event runs until October 18.
