Truck Series Legend Crafton Returns for One More Homestead Race After Retirement

Matt Crafton is coming back for one more race. The Truck Series legend will return to competition at Homestead-Miami Speedway, driving ThorSport Racing's No. 66 Ford with Menards and MasterForce backing in Friday's finale, which begins at 7:30 p.m. ET. It will be his 25th start at the track, a fitting place for a comeback: Crafton made his Truck Series debut in the 2000 season finale at California Speedway before becoming a full-time driver in 2001. His full-time career spanned 25 consecutive seasons, ending with his retirement announcement in August 2025, when the No. 88 passed to Ty Majeski for 2026. Crafton will not be taking that number back, and he will not be chasing a fourth championship either. There is a title to settle around his return, with Kaden Honeycutt entering Friday's finale 20 points ahead of Layne Riggs, the only other driver still eligible after Chandler Smith won at Martinsville. For Crafton, though, the weekend is about one more start in a series he helped define, back with the team and sponsors most associated with his long career.
