Red Bull is beginning life after Gianpiero Lambiase. The team has confirmed that Tom Hart will take over as Max Verstappen's race engineer starting with the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, in a planned transition that will run through the closing rounds of the season.

Hart will sit in as Verstappen's voice on the pit wall for the United States, Brazil and Las Vegas rounds, while Lambiase sees out the campaign with the Dutchman in Mexico, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Even when Lambiase is not in the engineer role, he will remain on-site at those races, and talks are ongoing between Red Bull and McLaren about when he can officially begin work at his new team in 2027.

The move ends one of the most successful partnerships in recent Formula 1 history. Lambiase guided Verstappen to four world championships, and their radio exchanges became part of the sport's folklore — so much so that Red Bull sent Lambiase up to the podium as its team representative after Verstappen's victory in Singapore, which Verstappen later said took him by surprise.

Hart, meanwhile, was on his way out of Milton Keynes before this opportunity arrived. He had been set to join Williams and work with Alex Albon, but chose to stay after Verstappen named him as his preferred replacement, reports say. The US Grand Prix takes place on October 23-25.
