Till Blasts Paul as 'Fraud' After Being Passed Over for Christmas Eve Fight
Darren Till says he agreed a price and spent two weeks in camp for the Jake Paul fight, only to watch Cedric Doumbe get the Christmas Eve date in Dubai.

Darren Till has launched a furious attack on Jake Paul after being passed over for Paul's Christmas Eve fight in Dubai. Speaking to Ariel Helwani, the former UFC welterweight contender said he had agreed a price for the bout, flown his coach out, and spent two weeks in camp preparing for a December 24 date in the city where he lives. Instead, the fight was announced for Cedric Doumbe, leaving Till to brand Paul a fraud and question the credibility of the matchup. The numbers behind Till's anger explain part of it. Doumbe, a decorated kickboxer, has not boxed since 2015 and last fought 30 months ago at 175 pounds, while Paul weighed 227 pounds for his bout with Mike Tyson in November 2024 and has never fought below 185 pounds in boxing. Paul, who stands 6-foot-1 with a 76-inch reach, will face a 5-foot-8 opponent with a 73-inch reach. Paul enters the bout 12-2 after being stopped by Anthony Joshua last year, according to the report. Till's outburst is the latest twist in a fight announcement that has already divided opinion, and it leaves the former UFC title challenger still waiting for the big payday he believed was finally his.
