Steven Wilson Wins Third eNASCAR iRacing Title in Four Years at NASCAR Hall of Fame

Steven Wilson is quickly running out of milestones left to chase in sim racing's biggest series. The 24-year-old wrapped up his third eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series title in four years on Tuesday night, surviving a chaotic finish at the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway to go back-to-back as champion in front of a packed crowd at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte.

Wilson only needed a strong run to close out the Championship 4, and he delivered — crossing the line second after a trio of late-race restarts to fend off fellow finalists Wyatt Tinsley, Bobby Zalenski and Connor Yeroschak. The result locked up the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Cup and a $100,000 winner's check for the No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet driver.

With the title, Wilson joins rare company: he is one of only two multi-time champions in series history and now sits one crown behind iRacing legend Ray Alfalla. He already has next season in his sights, telling reporters he wants to return for three in a row. The celebration carried an extra layer this time, too — over the offseason, Spire hired Wilson as its real-world simulator driver, and he spent the year feeding data to the organization's three Cup Series entries during a breakout season that produced Chase berths for Carson Hocevar and Daniel Suarez.
