"Slow News Day": LeBron Brushes Off Trump's National Anthem Criticism
Asked about Donald Trump's attack on his behaviour during the national anthem after Thursday's comeback win over Cleveland, LeBron James chuckled and called it a "slow news day."

LeBron James needed just a few words to answer Donald Trump's latest criticism after the Philadelphia 76ers' historic comeback win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Trump had lashed out on Truth Social on Thursday over video of James moving around — practising a golf swing and mimicking a jump shot — during the national anthem before Tuesday's season opener against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The president branded the 76ers star a "TOTAL DISGRACE" and demanded he apologise to US military personnel, also raising the incident at a rally in Iowa on Thursday.
Speaking after Philadelphia's stunning 114-106 win — in which the Sixers erased a 29-point deficit, their largest comeback since the 1997-98 season — James chuckled when asked about the president's comments. "Must (have been) a slow news day at the office, you know? Slow news day in the office," he said.
The victory moved Philadelphia to 2-0 in James' first season with the franchise, capping a night in which the anthem story became a footnote to one of the great comebacks in team history.
