Sharks Stun Munster as South African Trio Hold URC Top Four
The Sharks claimed a first win at Thomond Park while the Bulls and Stormers piled on the tries, leaving three South African sides in the URC top four at the November break.

South Africa's leading United Rugby Championship contenders reached the November break in rude health, with the Bulls, Stormers and Sharks occupying second, third and fourth places after Round 5. The standout result came in Limerick, where the Sharks beat Munster 15-3 for their first ever win at Thomond Park, and their second overseas victory in a row, in atrocious conditions. Gianni Lombard scored the opening try in the 15th minute after Zekhethelo Siyaya broke through, kicked ahead and chased, and the Sharks never let Munster score a try. At Loftus, the Bulls ran in eight tries in a 54-26 demolition of the Scarlets, with winger Dylan Maart and loose forward Marcell Coetzee grabbing two apiece, while the Stormers beat Ulster 33-7 in Cape Town for a fourth successive bonus-point home win across the URC and Investec Champions Cup. Only the Lions missed out, losing 29-20 to Glasgow despite leading with ten minutes remaining. The URC now pauses for the Nations Championship, resuming with two South African derbies on December 5 — and the South African trio will return believing the log is theirs to shape.
