Schefter: Lamar Jackson Has "Realistic Chance" to Return Sunday Against the Browns
Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that Lamar Jackson has a "realistic chance" to suit up for Baltimore's Week 6 trip to Cleveland after missing the Falcons game with an ankle injury — even though Jackson was absent from the portion of Wednesday practice open to reporters.

Lamar Jackson's ankle saga may be nearing a positive end for Baltimore. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that the two-time MVP has a "realistic chance" to play Sunday when the Ravens visit the Cleveland Browns, their first AFC North matchup of the season. Jackson injured the ankle in Baltimore's Week 4 win over Tennessee and sat out Sunday's 30-23 overtime victory over Atlanta, where backup Tyler Huntley threw two touchdown passes and scored the winning touchdown on a quarterback sneak. That result kept the Ravens at 4-1 and in command of the division. Jackson did not join the portion of Wednesday's practice that was open to reporters, leaving his status as the team's biggest availability question. But there was encouraging news elsewhere: edge rusher Trey Hendrickson practiced with a wrap on his right hand after missing two games with a finger injury, rookie receiver Ja'Kobi Lane returned from wrist surgery and is eligible to come off injured reserve after missing four games, and new center Cam Jurgens wore a non-contact jersey and watched from the sideline as he works toward his Ravens debut following concussion protocol. Receiver Rashod Bateman was also absent from the open portion, with no reason given, while tight end Matthew Hibner sat out with a hand injury and Calais Campbell rested as usual. The first official injury report of the week will clarify participation levels ahead of Sunday.
