Samoa Run in 14 Tries in Record 76-0 Rout of Wales at Women's Rugby League World Cup
Samoa thrashed Wales 76-0 at CommBank Stadium on Friday, scoring 14 unanswered tries to record their biggest-ever World Cup victory, with 19-year-old Tyra Ekepati completing a hat-trick and Amber Hall named player of the match.

Samoa produced a statement win at the Women's Rugby League World Cup on Friday, running in 14 unanswered tries in a 76-0 demolition of Wales at CommBank Stadium in Sydney — their biggest-ever World Cup victory.
After Wales survived an early storm, Samoa opened the floodgates. Laikha Clarke crashed over for the country's first World Cup try in nearly 18 years, and by the 28th minute tries from Destiny Mino-Sinapati, Amber Hall and a Tyra Ekepati double had made it 28-0. Two more before the break — from Mercedez Taulelei-Siala and Ivana Loleiso — took it to 40-0 at halftime.
There was no mercy after the restart. Captain Evania Isa'ako crossed for the eighth try, Mino-Sinapati added a stunning long-range 10th, and 18-year-old Freedom Crichton Ropati — cousin of Stephen Crichton — scored her first World Cup try. Ekepati, the 19-year-old centre, completed her hat-trick late on before Tavarna Papalii added the 14th with 90 seconds to play. Pauline Piliae-Rasabale landed 10 of 14 conversions.
The win bounces Samoa back from their opening defeat by England and sets up a crucial clash with England in Wollongong on Friday, October 30. Wales, winless in two, conclude their pool against co-hosts Australia in Sydney on November 1.
