Sabbhineni Meghana, 30, Announces Retirement From All Forms of Cricket
Andhra Pradesh top-order batter Sabbhineni Meghana announced her retirement from all formats on Friday, ending a career that brought 20 India caps and a WPL title with RCB.

Sabbhineni Meghana has called time on her playing career, announcing her retirement from all forms of cricket via social media on Friday at the age of 30.
The Andhra Pradesh top-order batter finishes with 20 India caps to her name — three ODIs and 17 T20Is. She made her T20I debut against West Indies in November 2016 and her ODI debut against New Zealand in February 2022, with her last international appearance coming against Thailand in October 2022.
Meghana's career highlights include a silver medal with India at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. In the Women's Premier League, she began with the Gujarat Giants in the inaugural season before joining Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where she was part of the squad that lifted the 2024 title. Across her WPL career she scored 302 runs in 14 innings, including one half-century.
The right-hander said she intends to stay involved in the game through mentoring young cricketers, closing the door on playing while keeping one foot in the sport that shaped her. Her announcement comes just days after former India opener Punam Raut also retired, marking the end of an era for two experienced names of Indian women's cricket.
