Rams List Five Questionable for Chargers Clash as Whittington's Back Seizes Up
The Los Angeles Rams head into Sunday's clash with the Chargers short-handed, with five players questionable and long snapper Joe Cardona doubtful.

The Los Angeles Rams could be even more short-handed than expected on Sunday when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers, after head coach Sean McVay delivered a worrying injury update on Friday. Centre Coleman Shelton is questionable with a hip injury, tight end Colby Parkinson is questionable after missing practice, and cornerback Trent McDuffie is questionable with a groin problem. Long snapper Joe Cardona is doubtful with an ankle injury, which would see Jake McQuaide step in as the replacement snapper. Wide receiver Jordan Whittington was also added to the questionable list after his back seized up shortly before McVay addressed reporters on Friday. McVay admitted concern for Whittington, describing him as tough as they come while acknowledging the timing of the setback. The Rams are already without Davante Adams, who is on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, and Puka Nacua has admitted he is still managing a calf injury that emerged in practice last week. With the bye still two weeks away, the Rams face a difficult test against their city rivals, and quarterback Matthew Stafford may have to cope without several key pieces of his supporting cast.
