Rampant Bulls Bury Previously Unbeaten Lions 57-15 in Loftus Rout
The Bulls produced a nine-try masterclass to crush the previously unbeaten Lions 57-15 in the Jukskei derby at Loftus Versfeld, rebounding emphatically from last week's loss in Limerick.

The Bulls turned the Jukskei derby into a one-sided exhibition on Saturday, dismantling the previously unbeaten Lions 57-15 at Loftus Versfeld in the third round of the United Rugby Championship. Johan Ackermann's side crossed the whitewash nine times in a performance that sent a loud message to the rest of the league after last week's disappointing defeat to Munster in Limerick.
Springbok number eight Cameron Hanekom was the star of the show with a brace, powering over twice in a brutal display of ball-carrying. Centre Harold Vorster opened the scoring with a clever chip and regather, while hooker Johan Grobbelaar, flank Jeandre Rudolph, wing Canan Moodie, lock JF van Heerden, replacement wing Cheswill Jooste and Sebastian de Klerk also touched down. Curwin Bosch landed three conversions before Handre Pollard added four more off the bench.
The Lions, who had won their opening two fixtures, struck first-half blows through flank Siba Qoma and replacement hooker Morne Brandon, with flyhalf Chris Smith adding a conversion and a penalty. But a yellow card for scrumhalf Morne van den Berg opened the floodgates, and the visitors were simply overwhelmed after the interval as the Bulls raced away for a statement victory.
Both sides now shift focus to the Investec Champions Cup, with the Bulls hosting Stade Francais next Saturday and the Lions travelling to La Rochelle.
