Pulisic Commits His Future to AC Milan With New Deal Through 2031

AC Milan have secured one of their most important players for the long term, announcing on Friday that Christian Pulisic has signed a new contract running through June 30, 2031. The American international's previous deal had been set to expire at the end of the season, and the extension removes any doubt about where the 28-year-old will be playing his football for the rest of the decade. Pulisic's numbers underline why Milan moved to tie him down. He has scored 44 goals in 141 appearances for the Rossoneri, and reports put his new salary at around €5 million per season plus bonuses, up from €4 million. After a goal drought that stretched through the second half of last season, he has rediscovered his scoring touch, netting twice in his past four league appearances, including the opener in a 2-0 win over Udinese. His goal against Lecce on September 20 had already ended a drought dating back to December. The new deal also closes a difficult chapter for Pulisic, who missed much of preseason after suffering a bone bruise and microfracture in his right tibia and fibula during the United States' World Cup round-of-16 loss to Belgium. With his future settled, Milan will hope their talisman can now push on and lead the club's ambitions at home and in Europe.
