Puig Walks Away From LIV Golf, Eyes Fuller DP World Tour Schedule

David Puig has become the latest Spanish star to walk away from LIV Golf, telling reporters at the Spanish Open on Thursday that he will not stay for the breakaway league's restructured "LIV 2.0" and will instead take up DP World Tour membership.

"I don't see myself playing in the LIV 2.0," the 24-year-old said. "It's a decision I've made. I hope to play the European Tour next year, which I really enjoy, with a fuller schedule."

Puig, an Arizona State standout, turned professional with LIV in 2022 and played for Sergio Garcia's Fireballs GC, but never won an individual LIV title in more than four years — his biggest career win remains last November's Australian PGA Championship. His exit follows Garcia and Jon Rahm back to Europe, with players facing an October 25 deadline to commit to the restructured league. Meanwhile, two-time major champion Bryson DeChambeau is reportedly weighing more European starts without pursuing DP World Tour membership, underlining the shifting loyalties across men's professional golf.
