Prasidh Krishna Ruled Out of New Zealand ODI Series as Auqib Nabi Lines Up as Replacement
India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna will miss the five-match ODI series against New Zealand starting November 4 as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury, with Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi in contention to replace him.

India will be without fast bowler Prasidh Krishna for the upcoming five-match one-day series against New Zealand after the pacer failed to recover fully from a hamstring injury. A Board of Control for Cricket in India source told the Press Trust of India that Krishna, who strained his hamstring during the home series against West Indies, still has match simulations and a fitness test lined up at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on November 1 and 2. Team management and selectors believe Krishna should be fully fit for the Test matches that follow, where his workload demands will be greater, rather than risk him in the shorter format. The series begins in Auckland on November 4, with Shubman Gill set to captain the first three matches before Shreyas Iyer takes over for the final two. Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi has emerged as the leading replacement candidate after impressing in the first unofficial red-ball match between India A and New Zealand A in Lincoln. Nabi had already been named in the squad for the final two ODIs, and his promotion would cap a rapid rise for the domestic quick.
