PGA Tour Heads to Japan: Schauffele Defends Baycurrent Classic Title
The FedExCup Fall continues in Yokohama from October 8-11, where Xander Schauffele defends against a field stacked with Matsuyama, Spieth, Morikawa and more.

The PGA Tour crosses the Pacific this week for the Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club in Japan, running Thursday, October 8 through Sunday, October 11.
Defending champion Xander Schauffele headlines the 72-player field. Schauffele won last year's edition at 19 under and returns looking for back-to-back titles at the only PGA Tour event staged in Japan. He'll face stiff competition from home favorite Hideki Matsuyama, along with Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Wyndham Clark and Adam Scott.
The tournament is the third of eight FedExCup Fall events and carries an $8 million purse, with $1.44 million going to the winner. There is no cut, and 500 FedExCup points are on the line — critical currency for players fighting to secure full playing status for 2027 and spots in next year's early Signature Events.
Yokohama Country Club plays as a par 71 measuring 7,322 yards and hosts the world's best for the eighth consecutive year. The event's history stretches back to its days as the Zozo Classic, with Tiger Woods claiming the inaugural edition in 2019.
With the LPGA off this week before its Asian swing, Japan is the center of the professional golf world — and all eyes are on whether Schauffele can make it two in a row.
