PGA Tour Finds New Sponsor for Austin Championship After Good Good Fallout

The PGA Tour's Austin event has a new sponsor. On Monday, Compliance Solutions was announced as the presenting sponsor of the inaugural Austin Championship, which begins next week at Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa's Fazio Canyons Course. Compliance, an accounting and tax service provider based in Longwood, Florida, already has a relationship with the tour through Korn Ferry Tour and Champions events, and its arrival ends a whirlwind lead-up for the tournament. Last October the tour announced it was partnering with YouTube influencer brand Good Good to host a fall event, but the PGA Tour later ended Good Good's sponsorship, and Golf Channel cancelled its planned reboot of "The Big Break". The Austin Championship is the penultimate stop on the FedEx Cup Fall schedule, with the season wrapping up the following week in Sea Island, so the field will be playing for cards, status and momentum as much as the trophy. For the tour, landing a steady corporate backer after a very public false start is a quiet but welcome result — and for the players, the focus can finally return to the golf.
