Perkins Signs Multi-Year Deal to Drive Sam Hunt Racing's No. 24 in 2027
Blaine Perkins has signed a multi-year deal to drive the No. 24 Toyota Supra for Sam Hunt Racing in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series starting in 2027, joining Sheldon Creed in the Toyota camp.

Blaine Perkins has found a long-term home in the NASCAR garage. The 26-year-old Californian announced on Thursday that he will join Sam Hunt Racing on a multi-year deal, driving the team's No. 24 Toyota Supra in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series beginning with the 2027 season.
Perkins will team with previously announced driver Sheldon Creed, and veteran crew chief Brian Gainey will lead the No. 24 effort. Team owner Sam Hunt praised Perkins as a motivated young driver who has earned his shot at the next level, saying the organization is eager to give him the tools to succeed on and off the track.
The move rewards a career built from the grassroots up. Perkins started racing at age eight in California, collected track championships at Irwindale Speedway and Kern County Raceway, then broke out in the 2020 ARCA West season with three victories. He made his national-series debut in 2021 and has compiled six top-10 finishes at the national level since.
"It's a dream come true to have the opportunity to race for SHR and Toyota," Perkins said in the announcement. The signing gives Sam Hunt Racing a second full-time driver to build its 2027 program around as the series reshapes its field for next year.
