Perez Extends Cadillac Deal Until 2029 Ahead of 300th Grand Prix
Sergio Perez has signed a multi-year contract extension with Cadillac that keeps him with the Formula 1 team until 2029.

Sergio Perez has committed his future to Cadillac, signing a multi-year contract extension that will keep the Mexican driver with the American Formula 1 team until 2029. The team announced the deal on Wednesday, just days before Perez celebrates his milestone 300th Grand Prix start at his home race in Mexico City this weekend.
Perez, 36, joined Cadillac for their debut season on the grid and said extending his commitment felt like a natural continuation of a chapter he truly believed in from day one. A six-time Grand Prix winner who has raced in Formula 1 since 2011, he finished third in the drivers' championship in 2022 and second the following season behind then team-mate Max Verstappen at Red Bull. Building a team from the ground up takes time, relentless work and patience, he said, but the progress Cadillac are making together is incredibly rewarding.
The announcement comes in the middle of a celebratory week for Perez in Mexico City, where he has already taken part in a public show run ahead of Sunday's race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Cadillac are still chasing their first points after 18 races of their debut season, but Perez has said he expects the team to become competitive by the middle of 2027. With three more years now secured, he will be central to that project — starting with a home race that already carries enormous personal significance.
