Pereira Blasts UFC 334 Card Order as Gane-Hokit Title Fight Outranks Women's Super Fight

Alex Pereira questioned why Kayla Harrison vs. Amanda Nunes is again a co-main event while Ciryl Gane's heavyweight title defense over Josh Hokit headlines UFC 334, and Hokit fired back at him online.

Pereira Blasts UFC 334 Card Order as Gane-Hokit Title Fight Outranks Women's Super Fight

Former two-division champion Alex Pereira has taken aim at the UFC's bout order for UFC 334, asking on Instagram why the women's bantamweight super fight between Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes is once again slotted as a co-main event rather than headlining. The December card at Madison Square Garden (No. 14, on Paramount+) is instead topped by heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane against Josh Hokit — the second time the Harrison-Nunes superfight has drawn this criticism. Pereira, who suffered a second-round TKO loss to Gane at the White House event in June and is currently booked against Sergei Pavlovich in the UFC 335 co-main on December 12 in Las Vegas, had been campaigning for a title shot in New York. The UFC went another direction with Hokit as challenger, and the newly chosen title contender quickly clapped back on X, mocking Pereira's response and telling him to bring the fight instead. Pereira's complaint adds to the ongoing debate over promotion of the Harrison-Nunes matchup, one of the most anticipated women's fights ever booked, being billed beneath the heavyweight division's next title defense.
