David Pastrnak scored the only goal of the shootout as the Boston Bruins recovered from a blown two-goal lead to beat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 at TD Garden on Monday night. Pastrnak pulled the puck to his forehand and tucked it past Carter Hart for the deciding marker in Boston's first shootout of the season, completing a sixth straight home win for the Bruins, who improved to 11-4-1. Boston had looked comfortable early. James Hagens, who leads all NHL rookies in goals and points, opened the scoring at 7:23 of the first period, and Morgan Geekie doubled the lead on a power play at 3:23 of the second, his second goal in as many games. Vegas captain Mark Stone answered on a power play at 14:58 of the second with his tenth goal of the season, and Trevor Connelly tied the game at 7:23 of the third to force overtime. A scoreless extra period sent the game to the shootout, where Jeremy Swayman stopped all three Vegas attempts after making 21 saves in regulation. The night also featured a flashpoint in the second period, when Vegas forward Braeden Bowman received a five-minute major and a game misconduct for elbowing Boston's Matthew Poitras. Vegas, now 9-5-2 and 1-3-2 in its last six, took a point from the trip, with Mitch Marner extending his point streak to ten games with two assists. Boston heads to Pittsburgh on Thursday.
