Odell Beckham Jr. Signs With Vikings Practice Squad Amid Justin Jefferson Injury Doubt

Odell Beckham Jr. is getting another chance. The 33-year-old wide receiver and three-time Pro Bowler is signing with the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad, the team confirmed on Wednesday morning, less than two weeks after the New York Giants cut him.

Beckham's second stint with the franchise that drafted him never got off the ground. He made the Giants' initial 53-man roster out of training camp and was expected to see a meaningful role after Calvin Austin III went down hurt, but he played just 19 offensive snaps across three games, drew one target, and failed to record a catch before New York released him on September 29.

Minnesota, off to a 4-0 start, is short-handed at receiver. Superstar Justin Jefferson missed Sunday's win over Miami with a high ankle sprain and his status for this week's road game at New Orleans remains uncertain. The move also reunites Beckham with head coach Kevin O'Connell, who was the Rams' offensive coordinator when Beckham joined Los Angeles in 2021 and helped them win Super Bowl LVI, catching five touchdowns in eight regular-season games.

After stints with the Ravens and Dolphins and sitting out all of 2025, Beckham now gets one more shot with a contender that runs an offense he already knows.
