Nurse's OT Winner Lifts Sharks Past Blues as Celebrini Misses Second Straight
Darnell Nurse scored 1:03 into overtime as San Jose beat St. Louis 3-2, with Macklin Celebrini sidelined for a second consecutive game.

Darnell Nurse played overtime hero on Thursday night, scoring 1:03 into the extra period to lift the San Jose Sharks to a 3-2 road win over the St. Louis Blues.
The defenceman beat Joel Hofer near-side off a backdoor feed from Ivar Stenberg for his first goal with San Jose since his July 1 trade from Edmonton — and his seventh career overtime winner. Tyler Toffoli had a goal and an assist, while rookie Collin Graf scored his first goal for the Sharks (3-1-0). Remarkably, all three of San Jose's wins this season have come in overtime.
Star centre Macklin Celebrini missed his second straight game with a lower-body injury despite taking the morning skate; his next chance to return is Saturday against Edmonton. For St. Louis (1-2-1), Connor McMichael and Dillon Dube found the net, but the Blues have now lost three straight since their 4-0 season-opening shutout of Dallas. Alex Nedeljkovic made 24 saves in his first start of the season.
