Novak's Blistering 62 Builds Six-Shot Mexico Open Lead
Andrew Novak followed his second-round 61 with a bogey-free 62 to reach 23 under at Vidanta Vallarta, the largest 54-hole lead in Mexico Open history.

Andrew Novak is running away with the VidantaWorld Mexico Open. The American followed Friday's 10-under 61 with a bogey-free 9-under 62 on Saturday to reach 23-under 190 through 54 holes at Vidanta Vallarta — the lowest three-round total in tournament history and a six-shot lead, the largest ever at this stage of the event. Novak built his advantage at the turn and then poured it on, going five under over the first five holes of the back nine while playing in the final group. He has made only three bogeys all week and has made every putt from inside ten feet. Matthieu Pavon of France birdied his last two holes for a 65 to sit second at 17 under, with Doug Ghim a further shot back after a 64. Novak is chasing his first individual PGA Tour title.
