Norris Pips Antonelli by 0.001s in Final Mexico Practice

Lando Norris set up a thrilling Mexico City Grand Prix qualifying by pipping Kimi Antonelli by just 0.001 seconds in final practice on Saturday. The McLaren driver edged the Mercedes teenager in a session that confirmed the fight for pole is wide open, with Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes all covered by a tenth of a second. Charles Leclerc had topped both of Friday's practice sessions for Ferrari, but McLaren and Mercedes showed their hand in final practice to move ahead of the Monegasque. Oscar Piastri was fourth for McLaren, while Max Verstappen was 0.351 seconds off the pace, with Red Bull appearing out of the pole battle. The championship picture adds further intrigue: Antonelli needs only a top-nine finish in Sunday's 71-lap race to seal the drivers' title, and he arrives with a 123-point lead over George Russell. Verstappen and Liam Lawson will each carry a one-place grid penalty into qualifying for their Friday practice collision. Qualifying begins at 3pm local time, and on Saturday's evidence, pole could go to any of three teams.
