NFL Suspends Two Officials After Sunday's On-Field Incidents

The NFL has come down hard on its own. The league announced Monday that line judge Jeff Seeman has been suspended two games and referee Adrian Hill one game, each for an instance of unprofessional conduct toward a player during Sunday's Week 4 games. NFL vice president of officiating Ramon George issued both suspensions. Seeman was caught on video twice directing profanities at Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride during the Cardinals' 36-24 loss at the New York Giants, after McBride protested a non-called pass interference late in the game. NFLPA executive director JC Tretter called the behavior unacceptable and demanded officials be held to the same standard as players. Hill's incident came during Minnesota's 15-10 win over Miami, when Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II blocked Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson into the referee. Wilson tried to help Hill up, only to be angrily waved away. Wilson later laughed it off, and coach Kevin O'Connell called it "a fast moment" — but the league clearly disagreed.
