NFL Hands Out Season-High 10 Fines for Week 4 Player-Safety Violations
The NFL announced a season-high 10 fines for player-safety violations committed during Week 4, with several players hit for $17,911 for dangerous tackles and hits.

The NFL's Office of Accountability came down hard on dangerous play from Week 4, announcing a season-high 10 fines for player-safety violations on Saturday. Under the league's escalating discipline system, three fines in the same category trigger an automatic one-game suspension, and every player has the right to appeal.
Ravens linebacker Trenton Simpson drew a $17,911 fine for a horsecollar tackle, matching the week's maximum penalty. The same amount was levied on Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick for a hip-drop tackle and on Broncos guard Ben Powers for a blindside block. Other hip-drop fines went to Adin Huntington ($5,620), Jack Campbell ($15,930), Darrell Jackson ($6,683), and Nick Emmanwori ($14,648).
Hits on defenseless players brought fines for Reddy Steward ($5,583), Kamari Lassiter ($13,639), and Nate Landman ($11,111). The announcement continues a season-long crackdown on dangerous contact, coming after officials themselves faced discipline earlier in the campaign. With the suspension threshold looming over repeat offenders, the league's message to players is unmistakable: the margin for dangerous technique keeps shrinking.
