NFL Clears Ventrell Miller Over Ja'Marr Chase Hit, Fines Four Others
The NFL announced Saturday that Jaguars linebacker Ventrell Miller will not be fined for the hit that concussed Bengals star Ja'Marr Chase in Week 4, while fining four other players from that game.

The NFL will not fine Jacksonville linebacker Ventrell Miller for his hit on Cincinnati receiver Ja'Marr Chase, the league announced Saturday, closing one of the most debated officiating decisions of Week 4.
The play came in the second quarter of Jacksonville's win at Paycor Stadium. After Chase hauled in a four-yard pass from Joe Burrow, Jaguars defensive back Jarrian Jones grabbed his facemask — drawing a 15-yard penalty — and Miller then drove into Chase as he went to the ground. No flag was thrown on Miller, and Chase was evaluated for a concussion and ruled out for the rest of the game, the first concussion of his career.
CBS analyst Robert Turbin could not believe the sequence went unpunished in real time, saying he was "still really shocked there was no foul called" on what he described as Miller leading with the crown of his helmet.
While Miller escaped punishment, the league did act elsewhere. Jones was fined $8,201 for the facemask. Jacksonville's Travon Walker was fined $11,941 for taunting in the fourth quarter, and Cincinnati defensive ends Boye Mafe and Myles Murphy were docked $11,941 each for facemask penalties.
Chase is listed as questionable for Sunday's Week 5 game at Miami as he works through concussion protocol, with teammate Tee Higgins also questionable after injuring his adductor in the same game.
