Newcastle Take Cautious Approach With Livramento as Jaissle Offers "Weeks Away" Timeline
Craig Hope revealed Tino Livramento's knee injury was first felt in training last month and needs rest, while Newcastle boss Matthias Jaissle told reporters the club will not rush the full-back back.

Newcastle United are refusing to put a date on Tino Livramento's return after details of the full-back's knee injury emerged ahead of Sunday's trip to Crystal Palace.
Daily Mail reporter Craig Hope revealed in his Newcastle Confidential Q&A that Livramento first felt the problem in training last month. Initially thought to be innocuous, tests showed the defender needed a period of rest and recovery. The good news for the Magpies is that the England international has avoided serious injury and has been doing light work on grass over the past week as he eases back toward full fitness.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, head coach Matthias Jaissle confirmed the club's careful stance. "With Tino, we need to be cautious, and we don't rush him," Jaissle said, adding that the club is "optimistic in the next few weeks we can bring him back step by step."
Livramento withdrew from England's fixtures last month and is unlikely to feature in next month's internationals either. Newcastle sit 11th in the Premier League on eight points from seven games, one above Sunday's hosts Palace.
