Musetti Stuns World No. 1 Zverev in Straight Sets to Reach Paris Last 16

Lorenzo Musetti delivered the standout upset of the Paris Masters so far, beating new world No. 1 Alexander Zverev in straight sets on Court Central. The Italian won 7-6 (5), 6-2 in one hour and 42 minutes, edging a tight first-set tie-break before pulling away in the second. Zverev, playing his first match of the tournament as top seed, could not find a way through Musetti's variety and court coverage once the second set began, and the match slipped away quickly. Musetti will now face France's Luca Van Assche in the last 16 after Van Assche beat Learner Tien 7-6 (4), 6-4 earlier on Wednesday. The result is a significant one in the race for the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin, with places still to be decided in the final qualifying event of the year. For Musetti, it was a composed, high-quality performance against the top-ranked player in the world, built on patience in the rallies and courage at the key moments. For Zverev, it was an abrupt end to his Paris campaign and a reminder that the No. 1 ranking brings a target on every match.
