The Ospreys claimed their first United Rugby Championship win of the season with a thrilling 38-31 victory over the Dragons in a ten-try Welsh derby at Rodney Parade on Friday night.

Replacement number eight Morgan Morris proved decisive, crossing twice in the final ten minutes to settle a contest in which the lead changed hands repeatedly. His first score came after a strong kick chase from player of the match Tom Rogers, and his second followed a whole-team driving maul that was pushed to the Dragons line.

Sam Parry was equally central to the visitors' effort, the hooker scoring two tries from the lineout maul after the break. Ross Moriarty and Keelan Giles crossed in the first half, with Dan Edwards converting four of the six tries to help secure a bonus point.

The game will be remembered for its set-piece drama. Commentator Phil Steele noted he had never covered a match featuring six lineout-drive tries, as both packs turned the driving maul into a weapon all night.

Head coach Mark Jones praised his side's emotional control after back-to-back defeats in South Africa, calling it a growth moment for a team learning to make smart decisions under pressure.

There were injury concerns, though. Scrum-half Kieran Hardy left with a knee problem and Marika Koroibete departed with a suspected rib injury, with the Ospreys heading to Georgia to face Black Lion next week. Rogers, meanwhile, staked a strong claim at full-back in his first start there.
