Moicano Wants Paydays, Not Praise, Ahead of Halloween Main Event Against Nolan
Renato Moicano brushed off Tom Nolan's praise at UFC Vegas 123 media day, saying he wants money rather than compliments before Saturday's lightweight main event in Las Vegas.

Renato Moicano has no interest in compliments ahead of his first UFC main event test against Tom Nolan — he wants a payday. The 37-year-old Brazilian lightweight dismissed Nolan's media-day praise on Thursday, after the 26-year-old Australian had said facing Moicano was special because he grew up watching the veteran compete. Moicano, who enters his 30th career bout, made his priorities clear: he plans to beat Nolan regardless of the respect between them. Nolan, who carries an 11-1 record into his 12th professional fight, has said he manifested the main-event opportunity long before it arrived, and he relocated from Australia to Auckland to train at City Kickboxing under Eugene Bareman in preparation. The pair meet in the main event of UFC Vegas 123 on Saturday, October 31, at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, a pick-'em bout on the betting lines that pits Nolan's rise against Moicano's long experience at the top of the lightweight division.
