The reunion game will have to wait. The Green Bay Packers are not anticipating that Micah Parsons will return to practice this week, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday, ruling the five-time Pro Bowl edge rusher out of Sunday night's primetime showdown with the Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field.

Parsons, 27, tore his ACL in mid-December last season during his first year in Green Bay after the blockbuster trade from Dallas in the summer of 2025. He had targeted the Week 6 Cowboys game as a "very realistic" date for his 2026 debut, but his rehab, while intensified in recent weeks, has not reached the finish line.

"As soon as they give us the green light, he'll be out there," Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Monday. "That hasn't happened yet, but I think we're getting closer." LaFleur added that players returning from major knee injuries typically need practice time to get back to football shape.

The hope remains that Parsons plays this month, with the Week 7 home game against Detroit (Oct. 25) or the Week 8 Thursday night trip to Carolina the next possible dates. The 3-2 Packers are already thin up front, having lost Edgerrin Cooper (Achilles, Week 4) and Javon Hargrave (Achilles, Sunday) for the season. Dallas, 2-3 with the league's worst defense, catches a break on the other side: starting left tackle Tyler Guyton is expected to play through the back injury that forced him out of the Tampa Bay loss.
