Luiten, Hidalgo and Meronk Share India Championship Lead as Darkness Halts Weather-Hit Day Two
A three-way clubhouse tie at eight under topped the storm-hit DP World India Championship on Friday as fading light stopped play in Delhi, with Rory McIlroy sitting four shots back after an opening eagle.

Adrian Meronk, Angel Hidalgo and Joost Luiten share the clubhouse lead at eight under par after the weather-disrupted second round of the DP World India Championship, with darkness halting play at the Delhi Golf Club for the second day in a row. Luiten covered 34 holes on Friday in rounds of 68 and 68 to reach eight under, while Meronk (69) and Hidalgo (68) each played 31 holes after Thursday's round was hit by nearly five hours of storm delays. Belgium's Thomas Detry birdied three of his first six second-round holes to sit alongside the leaders at eight under before the hooter sounded at 17:54 local time. Masters champion Rory McIlroy opened his second round with an eagle on the par-five first and followed with three pars to sit at four under through four holes, alongside defending champion Tommy Fleetwood and Ryder Cup teammate Robert MacIntyre. England's Todd Clements and Eddie Pepperell completed their rounds to sit one shot back at seven under, while Spain's Eugenio Chacarra was also seven under through five holes as he chases a result that could send him top of the Race to Dubai rankings. "It was a lot of solid golf," Meronk said. "Obviously a little bit disappointed with the bogey on the last, but it's still a good round and I'm happy with the day of work." The second round resumes on Saturday, with more than half the field still to complete their rounds.
