LPGA Moves Lotte Championship to Kapalua's Plantation Course for 2027

The LPGA is moving into one of golf's most storied venues. The Lotte Championship will relocate to the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort on Maui for 2027, forming part of a two-tournament Hawaii swing alongside the inaugural Nanea Cup in Kailua-Kona next March, Field Level Media reported Tuesday.

The PGA Tour ended its 25-year relationship with the course — home of the Sentry event — in April, and the 2026 edition was canceled amid drought-like conditions before the course reopened to the public last November. The Lotte Championship, staged last week at Hoakalei Country Club in Honolulu and won by Thailand's Jeeno Thitikul, will carry a $3 million purse at its new home.

"We are thrilled to have Kapalua Resort and the Plantation Course serve as the venue," LPGA commissioner Craig Kessler said in a statement, calling venues with deep-rooted heritage "exactly what we look for." The move gives the women's tour a marquee Hawaiian showcase while the men's game has none — the PGA Tour will have no tournament presence in Hawaii next season.
