Larkin's Camp Refuses to Widen Trade List as Red Wings Stalemate Drags On
Dylan Larkin's agents have told Detroit they will not add teams to his 10-team trade list, leaving the suspended former captain's standoff with the Red Wings unresolved.

The standoff between Dylan Larkin and the Detroit Red Wings has hit another wall. According to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, the Red Wings asked Larkin's representatives to expand the list of teams he would accept a trade to — and his camp said no. Interim general manager Shawn Horcoff told agents Pat Brisson and Matt Williams that Detroit had explored deals with all 10 teams on Larkin's approved list but could not find a return it was happy with, and asked whether six to eight more clubs could be added. Brisson's answer, relayed by LeBrun on RDS, was firm: Larkin had already widened his original list from three teams to 10, and Detroit should be able to make a deal within that group. Clubs outside the list that have shown interest include Montreal, Boston, Buffalo and Los Angeles. Minnesota is believed to be among the keenest suitors on the approved list, which also features Florida, Vegas, Dallas, Washington, Carolina, Utah, Tampa Bay, New Jersey and Colorado. Larkin, the former Red Wings captain, has been suspended without pay since October 29 after telling the club he no longer wanted to play for Detroit. He is forfeiting roughly $41,000 a day while the suspension runs, and his contract carries an $8.7 million annual cap hit through 2030-31 with a full no-trade clause. Horcoff has said Detroit will wait as long as necessary for the right deal, but with neither side willing to move, there is still no sign of a resolution.
