Lala Misses 100th-Minute Penalty as Nice Complete 2-1 Comeback Win at Brest

OGC Nice stole all three points at the death in Brittany on Friday night, fighting back from a goal down to beat Stade Brestois 2-1 in a Ligue 1 thriller settled by a missed penalty in the 100th minute.

Brest struck first against the run of play. Ludovic Ajorque gave the hosts a 15th-minute lead at the Stade Francis-Le-Blé, and Éric Roy's side protected it until the hour mark despite Nice growing into the contest. The equalizer arrived in the 61st minute when Mohamed Amoura teed up Elye Wahi, who finished calmly to level the scores.

The game turned decisively in the 83rd minute. Wahi turned provider this time, setting up Sofiane Diop to fire Nice ahead and stun the home crowd. Brest threw everything forward in a frantic finish and were handed a lifeline deep into added time when the referee pointed to the spot in the 99th minute. But Kenny Lala, handed the chance to rescue a draw, sent his penalty wide in the 100th minute — and with it went Brest's last hope.

The win lifts Nice to eighth in the table with 11 points from eight matches, while Brest stay 11th on nine points. For a Nice side that lost at Lyon last weekend, it was a first away victory built on resilience — and for Brest, a cruel ending after leading for the best part of an hour.
