Kraken Blank Flames Again, 6-1, Behind Samoskevich's Double

The Seattle Kraken are making a habit of humbling the Calgary Flames. Three days after a 6-1 win in Calgary to open the season, Seattle repeated the exact scoreline in their home opener at Climate Pledge Arena on Sunday night, and this time the Flames never stood a chance. The Kraken scored three times in the opening 7:40 to blow the game open early. Mackie Samoskevich struck twice, Berkly Catton added a goal and an assist, and Joey Daccord turned aside 32 shots in a commanding performance. Morgan Frost's third-period power-play goal was all that denied Daccord the shutout. Calgary's misery is mounting: the Flames have fallen to 0-3-0 and been outscored 16-3 across three games. For Seattle, back-to-back six-goal explosions to start the season could hardly have been scripted better. Daccord's early-season form has been a revelation, and with the offense firing on all cylinders, the Kraken look every inch a side ready to contend.
