Klapka and Stromgren Strike as Flames Edge Sharks 2-1 in San Jose
Adam Klapka had a goal and an assist and William Stromgren scored his first NHL goal as Calgary beat San Jose 2-1 on Monday.

Adam Klapka had a goal and an assist as the Calgary Flames beat the San Jose Sharks 2-1 at SAP Center on Monday night. Klapka gave the visitors the lead at 14:36 of the first period, and William Stromgren scored his first NHL goal for the Flames, who have now won two of their past three games. It was Stromgren's fourth career game and his first appearance of the 2026-27 season, and he marked the occasion in style, sliding the puck from the right corner to the front of the net through Klapka before putting his own rebound in over Yaroslav Askarov's blocker at 9:14 of the third period to make it 2-0. Sam Dickinson pulled one back for San Jose at 11:57 of the third after a scramble around the crease, but the Sharks could not find an equaliser. Dustin Wolf made 26 saves for Calgary, while Askarov stopped 20 shots for the hosts. The Flames improved to 7-8-0, while San Jose fell to 7-8-1 having lost four of their past five games. The Sharks have scored only five goals in their past four games, and Macklin Celebrini has now gone six games without a goal since scoring twice in a 4-3 win against Montreal on October 20. For Calgary, it was a disciplined road win built on timely scoring and solid goaltending, with Klapka's first two-point game of the season leading the way.
