Kisner Dropped From TGL Team as Tiger Woods Signals Full-Season Return

Kisner Dropped From TGL Team as Tiger Woods Signals Full-Season Return

Tiger Woods may finally be on his way back to competitive golf. The 15-time major champion's name was missing from none of the headlines this week — but it was his name in a roster decision that did the talking. When TGL released its season-three rosters on Tuesday, Kevin Kisner was conspicuously absent from Woods' Jupiter Links Golf Club squad after two seasons, with Keith Mitchell signed in his place. Appearing on Barstool's Fore Play podcast on Wednesday, Kisner explained the call: "Tiger wants to play," he said, adding that Woods' longtime manager Rob McNamara texted him to say the boss intended to play a full TGL schedule. Kisner, 42, took it in good humour, joking about his newfound Januarys off. The Jupiter Links roster now reads Woods, Mitchell, Max Homa, Tom Kim and Akshay Bhatia ahead of season three, which begins on December 27. Woods has not played competitively since missing the cut at the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon, and has been absent from the game following a rollover crash and arrest in Jupiter Island in March that was followed by a rehab stint. He played only one match in TGL's second season — the final, which Jupiter Links lost to Los Angeles. Reports this week also linked him with possible tournament appearances before the end of the year, fuelling talk of a wider return in 2027.
